The aggressive Zaid Chaudhary was subbed out for Day 2, with Brodie Deverell taking his place.
Deverell (16) performed admirably, combining with Jordan Marshall (39) to put on 39 runs for the second wicket.
A good spell from Jacob Wiggers (4-14) rocked Sheffield’s middle order, but they did enough to claim first innings points.

Spinners Matthew Bennett, Anish Paraam and Eli Sheean were the pick of the Devonport bowlers with two wickets apiece.

Chasing 387 to claim first innings points, the Demons fell for 143, with a half-century to Callan Morse (56) and a fighting 31 from Josh Smith the highlights.
Kurt Lamprey (3-24) got the home side off to a good start, while Zach Walker knocked over the tail with 4-2 from two overs.
The Hurricanes enforced the follow on, but the Demons held firm, batting out the day to finish 5/121.
Opener Joel Salter finished with a dogged 42 not out from 148 balls, while Brandon King (33) also spent valuable time at the crease.
Jeremy Plant picked up his maiden First Grade wicket, finishing with 2/12.
