Mr Morrison will spend the morning in the North-West where he will announce northern Tasmania as one of the locations for the pilot Regional Forestry Hubs program.
The hubs are part of a government plan to add a billion trees - equivalent to 400,000 hectares - to the plantation industry over the next 10 years, responding to a growing global demand for timber.
The government is promising to develop four trials of nine sites across six states using $12.5 million in funding, helping to identify the commercial potential of plantations under private or Indigenous ownership. More than 75 per cent of Australia's plantation forests are in private hands.
The northern Tasmanian forestry hub will cover a wide region, stretching towards the state's North-East.
The total funding allocated to the National Forest Industries Plan is $20 million. The announcement coincides with the release of The State of the Forests report which shows the need for Australia to plant more trees.
Following the announcement, Mr Morrison will fly to Launceston to join Ms Archer, who also serves as the mayor of George Town Council.
Labor's Ross Hart holds Bass on a margin of 6.1 per cent after gaining a 10.1 per cent swing against former MP Andrew Nikolic.
In January, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed a trip to Tasmania was coming up for Mr Morrison after pressure was placed on him to visit the state.
It will be 12 months to the day since former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull came to Launceston.
