Tanya Greenwood of the Hub4Health applied for the grant to set up a With One Voice program in the region.
Creativity Australia program manager Nathan Lange said they were impressed by the planning and research that went into the proposal.
“They fully understood and aligned with the With One Voice ethos of inclusivity and using singing to bring communities together," he said.
“We are very much looking forward to working with Tanya and her team.”
Creativity Australia aims to build supportive networks that help to alleviate loneliness, social isolation, and depression through the neuroscientific benefits of community singing.
The choir will launch on March 7 at 1.30pm at the St Helens Neighbourhood House.
