The Shamrocks had wrestled their way back to a competitive 9-276 after a record 113-run stand for the eighth wicket, and Chapman was 69 not out - his highest ever A-grade score. 

In the next six overs he and Spencer (16 not out) amassed 48 runs - the final four of which came from a classy cut through point that brought up the right-hander's maiden century. 

"I don’t really rate my batting much so I think it was probably my first and last one - I don't think I'll be getting another one anytime soon but it was nice," Chapman said. 

"I do a little bit of work on it throughout the week, obviously tail-end runs are important so that's always a bonus getting a few but it was just one of those things.

"[Corey Briggs] and I came together at [7-122] and I thought he batted really well and he changed the momentum because we were in some trouble - he came out and played quite an attacking role and we built towards a total we could bowl to.

"That was really important not only for the game but for our season as well."

Chapman took 15 off one Cobey Evans over to reach the nervous 90s, and needed only 12 more balls to reach his final score of 101 not out.  

"I was really nervous, I was thinking 'I don’t know if I’ll get another chance here'.

"I was batting with Spence and he got the call from the guys in the stands saying I had 10 to get, and he was really good to bat with.

"He was talking me through it and saying 'you’ve got plenty of time, they’re not going to declare on you now' so it was nice of him to talk me through it."
