The Bridport Surf Life Saving Club will host the Statewide Masters Surf Lifesaving Series on Saturday and the Statewide Ocean Swim Series on Sunday.

Club president Travis Dawe is bracing for the biggest swim fund-raiser to date.

“If you have always wanted to swim the Old Bridport Pier and you are a good swimmer this is the time to tick it off the bucket list,” he said.

The swim is open to recreational and competitive ocean swimmers in junior (12-16), open (17-29), masters (30-49) and senior masters (50+) categories. 

The event is a major fundraiser for the Bridport club whose volunteers give up their summer to provide patrols, first aid and junior development activities.

Sunday’s ocean swim has registration from 10am and racing from 11am.
