On Saturday, Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 will be shown to hundreds of people by a five-metre open air cinema. 

But, the cricket club is making a day of to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation. 

Taking on Trevallyn Cricket Club in both the women’s and men’s games, the day is set to have something to please the whole family. 

The event, on February 16, will double as a club members and sponsors’ day, with action starting from 11am. 

The men’s game will start at 12.30pm with woodfire pizzas on offer and the bar open. 

From 4pm, there will be live music from Dream Sister, a jumping castle, children's games, food vans such as The Sailor Food Truck and Bird n Herd BBQ, coffee van, popcorn and ice creams before the movie is shown at 8.30pm.

Hadspen Cricket Club vice president David Burk said the club was looking forward to the day. 

“We hope [the event] turns into a successful annual event that raises awareness and funds for a worthy cause,” he said.

“We are expecting a few hundred people to roll through the day for some food in readiness to watch the movie under the stars, but of course a lot is dependent on nice sunny weather.”

The 100 per cent family-friendly community event is open to anyone, with all funds raised being donated directly to the McGrath Foundation. 

“We would like to thank Trevallyn Cricket Club for accommodating and being a part of the great concept of a family-friendly event,” Mr Burk said. 

The club hopes to raise more than $1000.

The McGrath Foundation was chosen to be the charity because of its close links with cricket and because everyone had been affected by cancer in some way.

In the past, the club has raised funds for Muscular dystrophy through its Champions of Sport event.

Three hundred people attended the fifth event in November and heard from George Bailey, Billy Brownless, Peter Moody and Wayne Carey.
