The feed was collected through the Launceston-based Facebook page Tasmanian Bushfire Support, who “rallied up the community,” according to Lend a Paddock founder Sarah Pollack.
Twenty round bales of hay were also donated by North-East based business Pyengana Premium Meats.
Lend a Paddock provides emergency assistance for transport and housing of animals during the bushfire evacuations.
Hundreds of people fled to the Huonville PCYC during January and early February – but their animals also needed somewhere to go.
The worst of the fire season may over, but Ms Pollack said they are still in need of donations during the lengthy recovery stage.
“There is going to be an ongoing need for feed,” she said.
“We’re not sure about paddocks, but we’re supporting people with feed while they resow their paddocks.”
The best way to donate is through the Facebook page, Lend a paddock Tasmania, or by calling Sarah Pollack on 0487939367.
