Tasmania Police Detective Sergeant Matt Stewart said the Criminal Investigation Bureau noticed an increase in burglaries in Launceston’s CBD over the past month.
“As a result of that an investigation was conducted,” he said.
The 26-year-old man was interviewed and charged on Thursday.
Detective Sergeant Stewart said a substantial amount of time and hours went into investigating the burglaries.
“A small amount of property has been recovered as a result of searches and bits and pieces,” he said.
