A statewide total fire ban is still in place and a number of community meetings are scheduled for the afternoon, as both local and interstate crews continue work to control the blazes under difficult weather conditions.

After particularly difficult conditions on Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology was predicting temperatures of 28 and 30 degrees for Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Saturday, Tasmania Fire service district officer Steve Lowe said knowing what the next three or four days look like it was extremely important they get as much as they can under control.
