Tasmania won six of its seven games to claim the title before being presented with its gold medal winners and team shield at the carnival dinner.
Tasmania started the annual tournament with a good win over Queensland and the only loss in the round robin format was to South Australia 2.
Tasmania finished on top with 12 points from NSW 1 (which claimed the silver medal with 10 points) and Western Australia 1 (bronze on nine points).
Tasmania has also been granted the honour of hosting next year’s diamond jubilee event.
It will be run between January 6-9, 2020, at the Sandy Bay and Community Bowls Club.
The annual tournament teams comprise current and former state and federal politicians.
