Coming off a 36-run win over Northern Territory, the Tasmanians just found NSW Metro attack too strong.
Tasmania’s top-order from the outset looked out of sorts, struggling its way to 6-26.
But former Riverside star Emma Manix-Geeves dug in with Ella Marsh in a stirring 48-run stand that include the side’s only six boundaries of the innings at Ballarat.
Manix-Geeves, who was playing as an over-age player in the tournament, was dismissed for 35 off 42 balls as Tasmania were bowled out soon after for 91 in 30 overs.
NSW Metro lost an early wicket, but cruised to 1-70 before South Launceston seamer Meg Radford quickly instigated a mini-collapse.
The loss of 4-7 runs left the Sydneysiders in a panic, still requiring 15 runs with only five wickets in hand.
But NSW Metro negotiated their way to victory to maintain their eight-match undefeated record intact.
Radford finished the day as Tasmania’s most productive bowler, picking up 2-19 off four overs.
Tasmania has won just twice – both over Northern Territory – out of a eight T20 and 50-over appearances.
