In Northern Tasmania, a total fire ban has been declared for Break O'Day, George Town, Northern Midlands, Dorset, Launceston, West Tamar, Flinders Island and Meander Valley.
A total fire bean means no fires can be lit, or allowed to remain alight in the open air, between 2am Tuesday, January 22 and Wednesday, January 23, at 2am.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a hot and sunny day with a high of 33 in the Launceston area on Tuesday.
The UV index is predicted to reach 13, which is extreme.
The ban has also been issued for Brighton, Derwent Valley, Hobart, Sorell, Central Highlands, Glamorgan Spring Bay, Huon Valley, Southern Midlands, Clarence, Glenorchy, Kingborough and Tasman municipalities.
