Corykodi makes his Mowbray debut in a 515m invitation as he heads towards the heats of the Launceston Cup on February 11.
Stop Line has the same ultimate goal but he will have his lead-up runs in the Rising Stars series where is a long odds-on favourite to take out the second heat and advance to next week’s final.
The Rising Stars has been a good guide to the Launceston Greyhound Racing Club’s group 2 flagship event in recent years.
Stop Line, a son of St Pierre prepared by Jillian Stamford, returns to Mowbray for only his third start over the 515m course.
He has won twice at the track including once over this distance.
The Greyhound Recorder’s price-assessors don’t consider there are any dangers and have Stop Line at $1.10 in their predicted market.
Susan Gittus-trained last-start winner Hit The Deck is racing in brilliant form and from box 2 should be hard to beat in the third heat.
Gittus could claim a double if Wheels Up can get across from box 7 in the final heat.
Corykodi is favourite for the invitation where he clashes with a good field including Be Like Bill, Gold Lenny and Apollo Blue.
If he reproduces his Devonport Cup effort he should be winning again.
Meanwhile, four semi-finals of the Maiden Thousand are the feature in Hobart on Thursday night.
Wynyard trainer Ben Englund has four leading chances in each semi including Wynburn Willow who has box 3 in the second semi and will be at short odds.
