The pair took both took out the Seven Mile Beach Sprint races to stretch their respective points lead.
The steely 39-year-old Armstrong from Hobart won convincingly in a time of 1:00:23 for his third straight line finish of the season.
Launceston pair Nathan Jackson and Mark Padgett continued their battle from the opening race back last December in George Town.
Jackson crossed over in second place in 1:02:21 to edge out Padgett by one minute and five seconds.
Clark returned to the winners’ list after being upset by Kate Pedley in Bridport.
But with her rival not in the frame at the Hobart race, the Launceston was streaks ahead of the competition.
Clark won by nearly four minutes in 1:10:26.
But the real contest was between Pia Austin and Danica Bumford.
The North-West competitor edged out Bumford by just eight seconds for second in 1:14:24.
Hobart’s Jack Direen took out the junior boys, Launceston’s Ella Boxall the girls and the second-fastest time of the day from Jackson earned him the veterans’ win.
While in Canberra, Jonte Armistead finished ninth in the junior nationals.
Launceston pair Ethan Stretton and Will Blackaby finished 21st and 23rd each in the sprint races following tragedy for Stretton, crashing on the bike while riding in second spot.
