It is alleged a 23-year-old mother and her two-year-old son were doused in petrol and had their lives threatened at their Kay Street house about 7.10am.
Tasmania Police Detective Inspector John Parker said they were still seeking information in relation to another alleged offender and a 1998 faded-red Toyota Corolla.
The car was last seen on Janet Street near Kay Street at the time of the alleged robbery and was seen on Southgate Drive shortly after.
