Having fallen to two losses on Thursday and another on Friday morning, the Tigers came good in their afternoon clash with Victoria Metro, restricting the host state to 7-89.
University of Tasmania’s Chloe Abel was the chief destroyer with the ball, collecting 3-11 off three overs including three wickets in five balls to spark a collapse of 4-2 in the middle overs.
South Launceston all-rounder Amy Duggan picked up 2-15 in four overs.
In reply, Tasmania lost Abel early but a 57-run stand between Bonnie Davies (23) and Amy Smith (35) was enough to secure victory as Emma Manix-Geeves hit the winning run with 23 balls to spare.
Earlier, Manix-Geeves had been one of the shining lights in three tough losses.
The former Riverside wicketkeeper top-scored with 23 not out in an 86-run loss to ACT-NSW Country on Thursday, with Duggan (21) the other batter to make double figures.
Abel and Launceston’s Stacey Norton-Smith both picked up two wickets in Country’s innings of 6-169.
Manix-Geeves also top-scored with 21 in a 20-run loss to Cricket Australia XI on Friday morning, which saw a much more competitive Tigers outfit than the one which lost to the same opponent by nine wickets on Thursday.
Tasmania will play four one-day matches between Sunday and Thursday to wrap up the tournament.
