The incident happened about 7.20am on October 11.
At the time, she was taken to the Launceston General Hospital by ambulance but was later flown to the Alfred Hospital in Victoria.
The woman remained in the Alfred in a critical but stable and then a serious but stable condition for several weeks.
It is believed the 19-year-old driver had the sun in his eyes when he hit the woman, who was walking in the same direction as traffic and was wearing headphones.
Police said the driver immediately turned around and attempted to help the woman.
Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 131 444.
