Twilight Splash
The City of Launceston Leisure and Aquatic Centre will be the place to cool off on Saturday, January 19. Think food vans, live DJ, free waterslide rides, inflatables, biggest splash event, hot lap swimming competition, and visits from the Paw Patrol, Ninja Turtles, and Squirt. Starting at 3pm, the pool’s opening hours have been extended until 8pm, with family passes costing $15.

Moores Hill Estate will host a decadent Sunday lunch this Sunday, January 20, and next Sunday, January 27. Food will be presented by the Vineyard Seafood Restaurant, a pop-up restaurant that travels around the state specialising in gourmet Tasmanian seafood dishes. Tamar Valley Folk Festival
The Tamar Valley Folk Festival has been running since 1992 at George Town, taking place this year from January 18 – 20. Headliner Damien Leith will be joined by the Heart Collectors, Jim Brown, the Dixie Chooks, Jacob Boote, the New Holland Honey Eaters, and Innocent Eve, among 26 acts in total, with ticketing information at tamarvalleyfolkfestival.com.

Leading contemporary artist’s QVMAG exhibition
The Queen Victoria Art Gallery at Royal Park is hosting this body of work exhibition from Raquel Ormella, titled I hope you get this. Digging into nationalism and political activism using the medium of textile, the work opened Friday, January 18 and will run until March 24.
