Hobart has broken its record longest run of mild days - but the capital has a way to go to match the records of Launceston and Burnie.

The Bureau of Meteorology said Hobart on Thursday marked 26 consecutive days of temperatures above 20 degrees.
It broke the longest run of warm days - which had been 25 days from December 15, 2012 to January 8 ,2013.
A BOM spokeswoman said Launceston currently had experienced 46 consecutive days over 20 starting on December 3 and including Thursday.
“The record for Launceston is 75 days from January 6 to March 21 in 2014, followed by 71 days from December 5 2017 to February 13 in 2018,” she said.
“Currently Burnie has 27 consecutive days over 20, starting on December 22 and including Thursday.
“The record is 64 days from December 14 2015 to February 15 2016.”
She said Devonport currently had 24 consecutive days over 20 starting on Christmas Day.
The record is 57 consecutive days from December 27 in 2009.
The spokeswoman said the run of warm weather was expected to continue with Hobart's maximum forecast to be in the 20’s every day until early next week.
“Temperatures will slightly cool for most areas over the weekend due to a cold front approaching from the west late Friday,” she said.
“However, maximums will again climb into the low-30s for North East inland areas on Sunday.
“No significant rainfall is expected over the weekend.”
