The art installation Man in the Cataract Gorge’s First Basin has been temporarily deflated, brought down by strong wind at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, January 16.
It is understood the right shoulder of the figure has ripped, causing the installation to deflate.
Mona Foma executive director Lee Cumberlidge said the team was working to repair the work as quickly as possible.
“Mona Foma can confirm that the Man installation by Amanda Parer in Cataract Gorge appears to have been damaged by strong wind,” he said.
“We are currently working to retrieve Man from the water so that we can assess the impact.
“This will take some time, and the repair process might be complex.
“We love Man and will work to get him up and running again as soon as we can.”
