Bancroft has built rapidly since his nine-month ban for ball tampering ended on December 29.

After posting scores of 2, 19 and 24 in his first three BBL clashes, Bancroft has exploded to life in the past two games with match-winning knocks of 59 and an unbeaten 87.

Those two wins have revived the Perth Scorchers' finals chances, improving their record to 3-5 before Friday night's crunch clash with ladder leaders Hobart Hurricanes at Optus Stadium.

Bancroft turned to yoga during his exile from international and domestic cricket and his new-found passion has had a profound impact on his life.

Teammate Hilton Cartwright said Bancroft's knock of 87 off 61 balls against the Sydney Sixers on Sunday was mesmerising to watch.

"I had goosebumps for him," Cartwright said.

"The crowd was going nuts. It's definitely one of my snapshots, seeing his face when he hit those winning runs.

"You could see the real joy in his face."

Bancroft has continued to embrace yoga since his cricket ban ended, even introducing the practice into the Scorchers' recovery and warm-up sessions.

'Every time we've got a recovery session he takes us through a 15, 20-minute yoga session," Cartwright said.

"It's one of those things that has really helped him turn things around. He loves it.

"I think yoga has taught him to be in his own element all of the time, rather than chopping and changing.

"He's very much a relaxed mindset 24/7 now, and that goes well with his yogi tag."

The seventh-placed Scorchers (3-5) will probably need to win at least five of their remaining six games to maintain their record of never missing the finals.

The Hurricanes (6-1) are the form team of the competition, with star batsman D'Arcy Short enhancing his reputation with four explosive half-centuries from seven digs.

Short's best effort came on Monday, when he posted an unbeaten 96 off 57 balls to lead his side to a 59-run win over the Melbourne Stars.

Scorchers stand-in skipper Ashton Turner is also in hot form with scores of 60, 43no, 47, and 60no in his past four knocks.
