Thursday’s $100 million jackpot is the equal largest prize Powerball has offered in the game’s 23-year history.
If one single entry takes home the entire $100 million jackpot it would be the biggest Australian lottery prize ever won by a single entry, The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney explained.
The current record is held by a Hervey Bay couple who won $70 million in January 2016.

Prospect Marketplace News owner Geoff LeFevre said they had seen sales increasing from Friday, but expected things to “really get started” from Wednesday.
“People are really getting interested now,” Mr LeFevre said.
“It’s people who never normally buy tickets too.”
Murray Everett, a regular at the Prospect store, picked up his third chance at the prize on Tuesday afternoon.
“You’ve got to be in it to win it,” he laughed.
“I’ll be better when I win the $100 million.”
Ms Cooney said up to one-in-three Australian adults are expected to have an entry in the draw.
