Mangalore-based Fahey will be represented by litter sisters Sacred Shadow and Just Browsing who are both high up in the market.
By qualifying for the final, the sisters continued an amazing run of success for their mother Dennes Point with five of her offspring having made Devonport Cup finals including Breaker’s Tip who was a gallant second to Keune in 2015.
Sacred Shadow will lineup from box 8 in the group 3 race with Just Browsing drawn next to her in box 7.
Fahey would have preferred lower draws but is still hoping Just Browsing can have some early luck and get a crack at the lead.
“I’d say that Just Browsing would be the better chance of the two knowing that Emerald Rainbow is a slow beginner and will give her sister enough room to get a cart across down to the rail,” Fahey said.
“Having said that, I couldn’t be happier with both girls.
“The difference between the two ability-wise is that Sacred Shadow is stronger whereas Just Browsing can do it at both ends and has quality box manners.”
Sacred Shadow qualified for the final with an impressive heat success, charging late to defeat top fancies Huxley and Fernando Drums by 1-½ lengths.
Just Browsing jumped straight to the front in her heat and led all the way to defeat Hello Rhonda and Hogwash in a slick 25.72.
“Just Browsing has only recently come back from a 13-week break and will be a lot better for the heat run,” Fahey said.
Both Fahey runners are at $4.80 with Sportsbet.
