The cafes are reopening, the hangovers are wearing off, and we’ve stopped getting out-of-office responses to emails. Yep, the holiday period is pretty much over – but don’t let the 2019 stress start just yet. This weekend, in Bridport, will be the Love Dance and Yoga Festival, from January 11 – 13. There will every type of relaxation practice you can think of: sunset meditation on the beach, call-and-response chanting, and paddleboard yoga. Feel the salty breeze on your face, breathe in, and breathe out.

With this gorgeous weather, we imagine many of you are reading this email from the East Coast. Have you been to Swims coffee-in-a-shipping-container, at Scamander? Our journalist Johanna Baker-Dowdell stopped in for a soy latte this week, and liked what she found. Temperatures are due to steadily climb over the weekend, capping at a predicted high of 32 on Tuesday – so maybe make it an iced coffee.
Or maybe ice-cream is more your thing? Check out Nitro Ella in York Street, officially opening on Friday. Their product is made using liquid nitrogen that rapidly freezes the ice cream at -250 degrees, causing the fat and water particles to remain very small, and resulting in an unrivalled melt-in-your-mouth creaminess.
Whatever you do, have a great weekend Northern Tasmania!
