A satellite visitor information centre will be trialled at Cataract Gorge over summer as part of a renewed focus on the tourist destination by the City of Launceston council.
The centre will be located in the Basin Cottage and allow visitors to collect information, view websites, and make tour and accommodation bookings.

“So obviously we have identified a need for this type of satellite centre right at the major tourist arrival point to the Gorge near the chairlift,” he said.
"Add to this the addition of the free Tiger Bus service available on three inbound and three outbound trips daily - there's going to be a real focus on the Cataract Gorge over summer."
The trial centre will operate from 9am to 3pm every day and run until Easter.
