Northern Tasmania’s four champion sides will play off in the statewide T20 cup qualifying finals this weekend.
Launceston booked a spot in the Northern finals by winning its maiden Cricket North T20 title, recovering from 5-30 in the final to beat Riverside by four wickets with 10 balls to spare.
The Lions are yet to lose a T20 match this season and will meet reigning East Coast Cricket Association champion St Marys at the NTCA No.1 ground at 4pm Sunday.
Longford won its fourth consecutive TCL premier league T20 title late last year and will host North-East heavyweight Branxholm at 11am Sunday.
The Country Tigers upset Westbury en route to last year’s Statewide T20 final, which they lost by 70 runs to a star-studded South Hobart-Sandy Bay side.
Blackmans Bay, Wellington, St Aidans and Kingston Crows have all qualified for the Southern finals, which will get under way next month.
The statewide semi-finals and final will be played on a gala day on March 11.
