City of Launceston commenced their annual Music in the Park performances, which will continue through until March.
Jazz group Evan Carydakis Trio were the first group to perform, filling the park with smooth rhythms and a relaxing vibe.
Saxophonist Evan Carydakis said the group was excited to be the first to perform at Music in the Park.
“It’s great to see so many people come to the park,” he said.
For many, it was a great chance to sit back and relax in the summer sun.
Children enjoyed the day too, with many taking a ride in the park’s classic blue train.
Most of the music performed will be at City Park, apart from the last performance which will be held at the Cataract Gorge.
St Joe’s Big Band will finish off the performances at the Gorge March 2, to coincide with the Australian Tourism awards.
More information on acts and times can be found on City of Launceston’s Facebook page.
