The free service, which is operated by the City of Launceston council, will add three daily stops at the First Basin as part of a trial program.
The trial will run from January 5 to April 20, its success will be evaluated in March.
Mayor Albert van Zetten said he expects the service to be well patronised by both tourists and locals during the busy holiday season.
“About 6000 people visit the First Basin every day and we believe this addition of the free Tiger Bus daily service will improve visitation numbers to what already is one of our most popular attractions,” Cr van Zetten said.
The Gorge route times will be added to the Metro Tasmania website.
