A deliberately lit fire on New Year’s Eve has destroyed two buildings on a Mowbray property, causing more than $500,000 damage .

The timber mill was set alight about 6pm, with at least nine Tasmania Fire Service trucks attending the scene.
The fire destroyed a large amount of timber and machinery as well as several vehicles on the property.
No one was injured during the fire.
Emergency services worked quickly to protect neighbouring properties, with only superficial damage caused to a nearby house.
Northern Criminal Investigation Branch detectives are investigating the fire and are following a specific line of inquiry.
