Did everyone have a great Christmas? We did! Most of you are probably still digesting a year’s worth of cold meats, salads and cherries consumed in the past week, but there’s no time to slow down – there’s heaps to do around Northern Tasmania this summer.

First up – New Year’s Eve! BeerFest in Launceston have promised that this one will be their “best yet.” With a haunted house, fireworks, live music, comedy, food and drink and DJ sets into the early hours, we believe them. It’s the first time the beloved event will be held on New Year’s Eve, and they are expecting about 7000 attendees – you may as well be one of them.
The public holiday is also a great opportunity to see other parts of the state. Smithton will be heralding 2019 with a rodeo, while in Hobart, The Taste of Tasmania is entering its 30th year. From the Flinders Island Long Lunch to Tasmanian Food Co. cheese from Pyengana Dairy and Robur Farm Dairy, the southern food fest will have plenty of northern flavours.
Whatever you do, we wish you belated Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
