But it’s the huge entry list of 41 street stocks for Wednesday’s racing that has everyone talking amid the two popular V8 headliners.
With 15 sprintcars cars entered, the tight confines of this track combined with the huge horsepower, open wheels and their massive wings ensures several collisions will no doubt occur.
Several different winners and close racing throughout the fields have kept fans entertained this year.
Jamie Bricknell, Jason Redpath and Kurt Luttrell have all won finals this season, but the young teenage racer Jock Goodyer, Nick Penno and Tate Frost are pushing them hard.
Super sedans also have a solid number of 16 entries up for Carrick.
The big V8 sedans have a massive month ahead and drivers are eager to get as many racing laps as possible.
Australian champion Callum Harper is the driver everyone wants to beat and the likes of Adam Beechey, Steve Latham and David Nicholls are all out to prove that they are the ones to do it.
Leon Cleary and Laura Davidson make a welcome return and are always fast.
The huge field of 41 street stocks will certainly keep race officials on their toes.
These cars can race either direction on the track and this ensures that the cars suspension isn’t modified beyond the rules.
A consolation final will be held for drivers who do not make the ‘A’ main race.
The drivers to watch include Dale Riley Jr, Corey Bauld, Luke Williams, Troy Russell and Steven Harvey.
Modified sedans have a small but quality field of eight cars. Jakobe Jetson is eager to have back-to-back wins, but will face stiff competition from Trent Quillerat, Craig Williams and Josh Stephens.
Matt Farrell makes a welcome return to the division and could well play a part in the outcome of the final.
The Formula 500s will be entertaining with Dylan Beveridge, Kristian Kelly and Adam Burr all showing impressive car speed this year.
Nick Kingston is having his first race of the season and has won at Carrick in the past, a track that suits his driving style.
