Twilight market in the Tamar for last-minute gifts
The Grindelwald Twilight Market will take place from 5pm to 8.30pm at the Aspect Tamar Valley Resort on Saturday, after a cancellation last weekend due to weather. The free event will see the Swiss-inspired village turned into a Christmas wonderland, with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. There will be face painting, access to the resort’s jumping pillow, Thomas the Tank Engine rides, a jumping castle, pony rides and a snow machine. There will also be market stalls, tasty treats and delicious mulled wine. Santa will be visiting at 5.45pm and then again at 7.45pm.

Carols by Candlelight
Pack a picnic and tune your voice for Launceston Carols by Candlelight on Sunday night at City Park. Gates open at 5pm and the Carols begin at 7pm. Tickets are $5 adults and $3 children, which includes a safe flame candle. Funds raised support The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal, with the money split equally between the City Mission, St Vincent de Pauls Society, the Salvation Army and the Benevolent Society.

Josef Chromy winery presents regional Italian foodie magic
For the past two years Josef Chromy Wines has showcased a number of dishes from across the world. On Saturday, they combine to become one huge fiesta. The one-off special will celebrate the most popular dishes from each of the previous events. Events have been held focusing on Milano, Napoli and Roma. Bookings are essential as the event is expected to sell out. Tickets cost $60-70 per person. The fiesta runs 5.30pm until 8pm, and booking times can be made to suit.

The cool-climate award-winning winery will open a cellar door from Thursday December 20 – Sunday December 23 from 12pm – 5pm. Expect stunning Riesling, the only Viognier in Tasmania, and Shiraz. There will also be walking tours of the historic property, including the convict-built barn, at 4.30pm for $20 per person - advanced bookings to 0417834781. French underground talent Anetha DJing at Club 54
A resident of the Blocaus event in Paris, as well as great collector of vinyl, Anetha is a young artist who has quickly become a prominent figure in the Paris underground scene. The Parisian-based DJ and producer has been gaining quite a name for herself over the last year, and will be playing at Club 54 on Saturday, December 22 from 9pm. Final release tickets $37.75 from Ticketbooth.
