You probably don’t need us to tell you that it’s nearly Christmas! Less than a week until the big day – hope you’ve all got all your shopping done. If not, the Grindelwald Twilight Christmas Market will be on this Saturday, December 22, after a cancellation last week due to weather.

Sunday will be (arguably) the most festive night of the year in Launceston, with the beloved annual Christmas Carols at City Park. With an aim of raising more than $16,000 for The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal, it definitely won’t be a silent night.
In non-Christmas news: there’s nothing like being a tourist in your own backyard. Have you been to the Burt Munro Cafe, in Exeter? It’s a haven for motorcycle lovers and fans of New Zealand motorcycling legend, Burt Munro - and a great place to get a coffee and read the paper that’s a little bit different.
Also this week: a new outdoor gym at Tailrace Centre, and the spotlight on the summer exhibitions at Evandale’s Handmark Gallery.
Have a great weekend Northern Tasmania!
