Operation Crossroads will run in conjunction with the Road Safety Advisory Council’s summer safety campaign, We’ve Been Everywhere.
Both operations will focus on Tasmanian road users doing the right thing over the festive season.
Police will again be out in force from December 21 to January 1 as part of Operations Crossroads.
Officers will be enforcing and encouraging safe behaviour during what is traditionally a high crash period.
There were seven serious injuries, but no fatalities, during last year’s Christmas period.

The advisory council’s campaign will promote safe road use by motorists and motorcyclists.
Tasmania Police Assistant Commissioner Richard Cowling said police want everyone to get home and ensure everyone uses the roads safely.
“Eight of the fatalities so far this year have involved motorcyclists. People need to take care and ride responsibly on our roads,” he said.
“Riders need to protect themselves and other road users by riding responsibly, ensuring they’re licensed and their motorbike is registered and roadworthy, and by wearing appropriate safety gear. As a rider, it’s your responsibility to ensure your own safety.”
Television, radio, online and social media ads of the We’ve been Everywhere campaign will feature during the Christmas period.
Assistant Commissioner Cowling said they’re also asking other motorists to be mindful of motorcycles on the road as riders are vulnerable road users.
Road users are reminded to be aware of the fatal five; speed, seatbelts, alcohol and drugs, distraction and fatigue.
