Summer Moon country music festival at premiere vineyard
Some of Australia’s best country music acts will be at Josef Chromy’s vineyard on Saturday, December 15, for the inaugural Summer Moon festival. With local food vans, Josef Chromy’s wines, Boag’s beers, and music acts including Lee Kernaghan, the McClymonts, and Catherine Britt, it’s a Tasmanian country music lovers dream. The event will go ahead rain or shine, and as co-organiser Matt Gower pointed out, all the great music festivals are accompanied by some squelching in the mud in gumboots.

Shannon Noll and Andrew Swift at the Saloon Bar
Get ready to rock at the Saloon Bar on Saturday night, with Aussie icon Shannon Noll and Launceston favourite Andrew Swift performing from 8.30pm. Nollsy will be bringing new songs from his latest album, Unbroken, to the audience at the Saloon.

Allegri Ensemble Christmas concert at Holy Trinity
Allegri Ensemble presents favourite carols and festive songs, including excerpts from Benjamin Britten’s youthful masterwork A Boy Was Born, and works by Rutter, Mathias, Tavener and others. The choir will be accompanied by rising Sydney organist Joshua Ryan, in the beautiful setting of the Holy Trinity Church, from 5pm on Saturday December 15.

Chamber of Commerce end-of-year cocktail function
The Launceston Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Deloitte for Christmas Cocktails on Monday, December 17. Guests will hear the Premier and Treasurer take stock of the triumphs and challenges of 2018 and look towards what 2019 will bring. Paul Liggins of Deloitte Access Economics will also discuss aspects of Tasmania’s recent economic revival.
