The 26-year-old man is believed to have been riding a bike at the time of the shooting on Albion road.
The shooting was not a random attack and those involved are known to each other.
Detectives and forensic police attended the scene to identify the occupants of two or three vehicles that left in a hurry shortly after the attack.
Detective Inspector Craig Joel thanked witnesses for coming forward and once again assisting police at the scene.
This is the second shooting in the suburb in recent months.
“These young men must find another way to settle their differences without recourse to firearms,” Detective Inspector Joel said.
“Family and friends are affected, and now another person faces a potential jail sentence when found,” he said.
