The charity will cease operations later this month after 20 years of fundraising for children enduring hardships.
The charity donated a $2000 cheque to this year’s appeal.
Moonbeam’s chief executive Peter Doddy said donating to Empty Stocking was a worthy finality as the The Examiner was one of the charities’ main sponsors throughout its existence.
“Without a doubt, The Examiner were absolutely marvelous with their support which added to our continued success,” he said.
“After 20 years of fund raising for abused, needy and ill children, Moonbeam have now made their final donation and are reluctantly ceasing to go on.”
Moonbeam treasurer Hugh McKenzie said Empty Stocking was a great charity to support as it helps struggling children during Christmas.
“The Empty Stocking was seen to be something that was very special this time of year,” he said.
