Lovell played senior State League football at the Tigers in 2014 and 2015 before finding his way to Hawthorn, where he managed two games in three seasons. 

The 21-year-old looms as a key inclusion for a Tigers side that finished second-bottom last season, and follows Launceston’s Mitch Thorp and Glenorchy’s Zac Webster as ex-Hawks who have returned to the TSL.

Kingborough announced the 174cm midfielder’s signature on Tuesday via a statement on social media.

“We are thrilled to see Kizza returning to play Tasmanian State League where he will have a strong impact on the competition as a classy, strong-bodied midfielder who finds plenty of the footy,” the statement read.

“On behalf of everyone involved at the Kingborough Tigers we welcome Kieran back and can’t wait to see him running around with number 20 on his back again.”

Lovell scored the fourth-quarter goal that gave Box Hill the lead for the first time in this year’s VFL grand final, which the Hawks went on to win by 10 points.
