The 19-year-old Sorell man was arrested on Friday for being within 500 metres of his victim, failing to charge the electronic bracelet, failing to remain contactable with police by telephone at all times, and for not complying with directions given to him by police.
A plan to fit bracelets with GPS to high-risk offenders was first discussed between state and federal governments in 2015.
A two-year trial recently started in Tasmania.
There were 3385 family violence incidents reported to police in 2017-18.
The figure was 2673 in 2014-15.
