On Saturday morning, shoppers awoke to find the statue on the awning of a Launceston business.
It had been moved from the Quadrant Mall.
The prop is one of three the City of Launceston council have placed around the city.
Two other props are located in Civic Square and the Brisbane Street Mall.
The council is heavily promoting the photo pods, with prizes up for grabs.
“Celebrating the successful activation of these key Launceston City Heart project locations, the giant photo pods will remain in place until Christmas Eve,” the council’s Facebook page said.
“Be sure to grab a photo in any one of - or all - of the pods and post it in this event's comment section with a quick caption ... before 9am December 21.”
The photo prop was removed from the awning on Saturday afternoon.
City of Launceston council refused to comment.
