Police arrived at the Trevallyn property about 4.30pm on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation.
In a media statement, police said a “man inside the house has fired a number of shots, and police are attempting to negotiate with the man”.
“No one has been injured and we are trying to safely resolve the matter as soon as we can,” the statement said.
Police would like members of the public to avoid the Reatta Road area until further notice.
A number of nearby homes have also been evacuated as a precaution.
Earlier this week a woman was shot in the leg at property in New World Avenue at Trevallyn.
It is unknown if the incidents are related.
