The exhibition is the end result of the Women, Art, Business residency at Jansz winery, with artist Anna Van Stralen mentoring students from Scottsdale, Lilydale and Port Dalrymple over a four week period.
The students, Tegan Carins, Georgia Knight and Macenzie Kerrison, also had the opportunity to hear from, and ask advice of, Jansz’s all-female leadership team.
“The residency aimed to encourage young women from regional schools to consider the potential of learning, creating and understanding art within a supportive environment,” a spokesperson from the University of Tasmania, the body that funded the residency, said.
The exhibition opens December 7 at 6pm at the Academy Gallery, University of Tasmania, Inveresk.
It will be opened by Minister for Resources, Sarah Courtney.
