The Burnie runner began with another win in the 70-metres open final, which comes on top of successes already over the distance at Launceston and Richmond in recent weeks.
Smart (8.5m) crossed the line in 7.65 seconds, finishing in front of Mt Hicks’ Tim Potter (9m), with Burnie’s Jack Colgrave (5m) in third. He saluted again in the men’s 120m gift, before showing his versatility by also crossing the line first in the masters 300m handicap off 26m.
Devonport’s Brooke Jones (7m) took out her second women’s gift race of the season beating home Port Sorell’s Eve Bell (7m) with Ulverstone’s Abby Chapman (2.75m) in third.
In other events, Hobart’s Jarred Gilroy (22m) won the open 400m final, while Newstead’s Sam Clifford had a second successive triumph in the open 1600m handicap race.
