Salmon producer Tassal has improved its board’s skillset with new appointments, its chairman says.

The Tasmanian-based company added Georgina Lynch and Jackie McArthur as non-executive directors.
“We are delighted that these talented directors have accepted our invitation to join the board, further enhancing and broadening our skillset as we implement our salmon and seafood strategy,” chairman Allan McCallum said.
He said Ms Lynch had significant global experience in corporate transactions, funds management, corporate strategy and acquisitions and divestments, and had held senior roles at AMP Capital, Galileo Funds Management and Stockland.

She was currently a director of Viva Energy REIT and CBUS Property.
Ms McArthur held senior positions with McDonalds for 13 years, in Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
She was currently a director of Blackmores, Inghams Group and Invocare.
Tassal argued the need for further salmon industry growth as part of a presentation for an investor conference on November 27.
“Salmon farming is essential to our future,” it said.
“With increasing pressure on our planet, arable land restrictive and the ocean 70 per cent of the planet’s footprint, our future food supply will depend more and more on the sea.”
