One of our favourite happenings this Saturday is Mannalargenna Day, a First Nations cultural celebration on the picturesque Far North-East Coast. Expect kangaroo tail soup, wildlife tours, a bonfire, children’s activities, and a climate change panel.
Country estate Strathmore House will be opening its gates this weekend. The home and property dating from 1823 feature a heated wall garden, man-made lake, and manicured gardens, and is usually off-limits to the general public.
For something a bit different, why not try river sledding? Tasmania’s first river sledding tourism business, Meander Wilderness Experiences, has launched – literally, down the Meander River. With recent rainfall, it’s also a great weekend to go trout fishing: our pick of the best spots here.
And it’s not this weekend, but did you see the line-up drop for Faux Mo, Mona Foma’s two-night laneway dance party taking place in January? It’s a cracker.
Have a good weekend Northern Tasmania!
