A number of arts organisations around Tasmania will receive funding in 2019 as part of a government initiative to support the state’s art industry.

Over $146,000 will be invested in six groups in different artistic areas.
Launceston based Interweave Arts Association is one of the organisations listed to receive funding.
Interweave is a community arts group aimed at working with people with disabilities as well as young people.
The funding will go towards developing a new theatrical production, which will be presented in 2019.
Contemporary theatre group Mudlark, as well as a festival called PANAMA and Ulverstone Repertory Theatre Company are other groups that will receive investment from the initiative.
Hobart artist Glen Murray will receive the Arts Tasmania Claudio Alcorso International Residency grant, which involves travelling to South Africa to help set up a dance residency and collaboration work.
Visual artist Paul Snell of Launceston is one of eight artists to receive the Artsbridge grant to travel interstate and overseas to display exhibitions.
Andrea Hutson, Donna Ritchie, Isabella Foster, Kate Gordon, Luke Conroy and Roberto Di Martino will also receive grants for exhibitions.
