Hoteliers Doug and Ramona Westbrook said they were thrilled to welcome back last years headliners ‘The Killer Queen Experience.’
“Fortunately when they performed last year we re-booked them, since then they have have sold out shows across the world, they are the number one Queen tribute act around,” Doug said.
“Lead singer, John Blunt is acknowledged as the best Freddie Mercury tribute artist in the world and was chosen to portray Freddie Mercury in the 2016 docudrama Who Wants to Live Forever.
“The crowd last February were blown away by how much he looks and sounds like Freddie Mercury,” Doug said.
A Day At The Creek is fast becoming known as the best tribute act festival in Tasmania, and Doug has worked hard to find acts that fit the bill.
This year, the event also includes support acts, ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute’, by The Ringmasters, Elvis Tribute by Adam Page and a David Bowie Tribute, as well as many more.
This year a percentage of ticket sales will be going to support Rotary Australia’s Mental Health and youth suicide prevention research.
Doug, who knows too well how devastating mental illness is to sufferers, families and communities, is hoping to raise at least $50,000.
Fundraising efforts have been boosted this year with a raffle offering the chance to win two Harley Davidson motorbike.
Raffle tickets cost $100 each and will be drawn at the Day at the Creek music festival in February. For raffle tickets, contact the Mole Creek Hotel.
Around 1500 patrons are expected at A Day at the Creek and more space has been opened up with the re-positioning of the many food and beverage vans that cater on the day.
Tickets are available at www.adayatthecreek.com.au or at the Mole Creek Hotel.
Please note that the hotel will closed on the day of the concert.
