"The Deloraine Districts Community Bank Deloraine Show is a great day out for families,” Fiona Gleeson said.
“For the last four years, the new-look family-friendly show has been a winning formula.
“This year whilst keeping the same atmosphere we are introducing some new attractions.”
Patrons will be entertained and have the opportunity to have a photo taken with the exotic birds Gomez and Friends and mini goats.
The young and adventurous can battle to see how long they can last on the mechanical bull.
There will be lots for young children to do in the Kids Zone including story time, face painting, bubble blowing, puppet shows and a ball pit.
The Deloraine Big Band, Junior Band and Dance Connection will entertain the crowd while they feast from the many and varied food vans.
The show will also feature the return of a full chopping program following a two-year hiatus.
Northern Tasmanian Axemans Association coordinator Michael Kelly said this year’s woodchopping program would be one of the best programs he’s ever seen.
Local favourite and newly crowned World Rookie Champion Josh Bakes will participate in the tree felling competition.
Show secretary Amanda Beams said about 50 entries on the day was expected.
“The arena at Deloraine Showgrounds is a magic arena with fantastic viewing for patrons to witness this truly amazing sport,” she said. “
Tasmania is well renown for punching well above our weight in the depth of competitors young and old.”
Two memorial events will be held including the Ned Terry Memorial 225mm Standing Handicap and the Merv Youd Memorial Standing Hard Hitting Championship.
The show program includes traditional exhibits such as an animal nursery, cattle, sheep, heavy horses, equestrian events and the Home Industries hall.
- The Deloraine Show will be held on November 24.
