After selling TFGA House in Launceston’s CBD in August, the industry body has leased new premises at 56a Charles Street, Launceston, and moved offices last week.
Association chief executive Peter Skillern said the move was made to allow the TFGA board to “consider its options”.
TFGA House was put up for sale in May, with president Wayne Johnston saying the redevelopment of the C. H. Smith building and the area around the headquarters, along with the need for more space to accommodate up to 12 staff, prompted the sale.
“The C. H. Smith building going ahead was the catalyst for us to say what is this building worth. The board made a decision to test the market,” Mr Johnston said.
The building had been the association’s home for more than 30 years.
