The 80-73 win capped off a harsh day for Glenorchy after its women’s side also lost the title game earlier in the day.
The Spartans had been victorious in all their eight State League games, but the Blues got in front and never trailed for the entire 40 minutes.
The lead got out to double figures late in the second quarter before Glenorchy drew it back to just three points midway in the third.
But Blues gun Zac White shot eight points in last five minutes of the term on his way to a game-high 34 to give his side a 12-point buffer at the last change.
Glenorchy got within four points twice but that lead stretched back out to 10 inside the final 80 seconds.
Teen Reyne Smith starred for the coastal lineup with 20 points. Tirivanhu Masunda (23) and Jack Stanwix (22) were the Spartans standouts.
Phoenix proved too good for Glenorchy to claim a 93-78 women’s grand final win after a dynamic start.
The eventual winners got out to a 30-13 quarter-time lead that stretched out to 25 points at one stage.
Kylie McCauley shot 26 points, Sharna Thompson 24 and Sarah McCauley 23. Sarah O'Neill with 22 points battled hard for the Spartans.
